The figures on the walls are from many stories from the Jatakas, the tales of many Buddha incarnations. In Ellora caves, you will find paintings relating to three religions, Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Though you will be able to distinguish between them as the caves dedicated to same religion are all together. Spend the whole day exploring the caves. In the evening we return to our hotel in Aurangabad. Overnight at the hotel.

Wake up before the sun rises. We will take you to Juhu beach near which many Bollywood actors stay. If you are lucky you might just spot a super star jogging along the coast. Apart from beaches, there are few other attractions in the city. In the morning, we visit Gateway of India. The gateway is built on the outskirts of the city, marking the entry and exit to Mumbai. It holds an important position in history of Indian freedom as it was from here, the last British ship set sail for England. We then visit the Haji Ali Mosque which is an important pilgrim spot for Muslims. The mosque is situated 500 m into the sea and is linked to the mainland only by a causeway. In the evening we take a boat ride to the renowned Elephanta caves which are situated on an island not too far away from here. Within an hour we reach the caves which are recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO. As you enter the caves, you will find the statues of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma. There are two huge elephant sculptures as well on the entrance, probably the reason the caves were named Elephanta. Inside, you will find sculptures of Hindu Gods and Goddesses carved on the walls of these rock cut caves. We return to Mumbai hotel for overnight stay.
