Safari to Ladakh is a tour that will take you to the elevated heights of Himalayan ranges and rendezvous you with architectural Buddhist monasteries, ancient temples, adventure trials and adventurous mountain trekking. The Ladakh safari tour also showcases other major destinations of the Himalayan kingdom like Manali, Jispa, Sarchu and Leh. The tour provides a lot of adventure opportunities and so it takes a lot of guts to engage in all the adventure activities like mountaineering, skiing, yak ride, boat cruise and more. The tour also takes us to the highest mountain passes and brings us face to face with the bounties of Nature.
Day 1 - Arrive - Delhi
Highlights:
On arrival to the Indira Gandhi International airport of Delhi, our representatives meet you at the airport and drive you to the hotel. As we drive to the hotel watch out for the raised pillars for the plying of metro rail in Delhi. The greenery of Delhi and the city life is just mesmerizing. As we reach hotel, check in for boarding at the hotel. Interact with the hotel authorities to clarify all your queries. Then be in the dining hall to relish the best of the cuisines of the India. Having filled yourself, retire to your room for the night's rest.
Day 2 - Delhi - Chandigarh
Highlights:
Botanical GardensMorning, after breakfast, we board the train for Chandigarh. As the train rolls on the tract, watch out for the green fields of India that have an enormous production of grains. On arrival, check into hotel. Take some rest and then in the evening we take you to the rock garden of Chandigarh. Here, you get to see rock fossils, chinaware, fluorescent tubes all preserved in the garden. Later, we drive you to the other sights of Chandigarh like the Sukhna lake where a boat cruise enthralls you. We also take you to the Botanical garden of Chandigarh where you get the opportunity to see a variety of flora preserved in the garden. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 - Chandigarh - Manali
Highlights:
Morning, we drive you to Manali – a dream cab ride. Watch the bounties of nature as we drive past the hills to reach Manali. This place is like a paradise as the natural wonders of the hill station is a gift that is a real feast to the eye. So, whatever you see around is just greenery and nature that brings in a sigh of relief from all anxieties. It really rejuvenates the spirit and so enjoy yourself while driving past the zig zag roads to reach Manali. On arrival, check into the hotel. A very sumptuous meal comprising of all delicacies of the hill station is arranged on your arrival. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 - Manali
Highlights:
Hadimba Temple at ManaliMorning we engage ourselves in sightseeing of Manali. We first take you to Hadimba Temple. Explore the legendary figures and symbols carved in the temple. As we continue with our drive we reach Manu templethat is dedicated to the famous sage Manu who is known to be the creator of human race on Earth. Visiting this temple is believed to bring in health and wisdom. Our next drive is to the Tibetan monasteries like Gadhan Thekchoking Gompa and Nyingamapa Gompa. Watch out for colourful frescoes and Buddhist statue that are preserved in these monastries. Later, we drive you to Vashist hot water springs while en routing the Rohtang pass. Then reach out for Nehru Kund – a clear water spring that allows you to rejuvenate and expel all the tiredness with its cold water.
Day 5 - Manali - Jispa
Highlights:
Morning we start drive for Jispa. The drive starts at Manali slowly winding up mountain roads till Rohtang Pass at 3,950 mts which connects Kullu to the Lahaul valley. On entering the Lahaul valley we see a distinct change with the Hindu influence being replaced with the Buddhist religion. We reach Jispa by late afternoon. Spend time walking around the Jispa village and reveling in the nature of Jispa. The villagers of Jispa offer an absolutely secluded lifestyle and an opportunity to learn their lifestyle is a lifetime experience for us. Overnight is in deluxe tents.
Day 6 - Jispa - Sarchu
Highlights:
valley of ZanskarMorning we take you to Sarchu driving past Baralacha Pass. As we continue drive, we reach Darcha village. This place is the gateway for trekkers to Lamayuru via Zanskar valley. On the way there are plenty of stops where you get the chance to capture the scenic grandeur of the majestic landscape of the Himalayas that is dotted with snow capped peaks and high altitude lakes. Then we cross the Barlacha Pass. As we cross this pass watch out for the vast stretches of the mountains and valleys. On reaching Sarchu we provide tent accommodation for your night stay.
Day 7 - Sarchu - Leh
Highlights:
Morning we start our journey from Sarchu to Leh – the most adventurous and difficult of the journeys. As we drive past the valley the journey becomes more interesting while passing on through Taglangla as it is the second highest pass on Manali – Leh road. Make use of your binoculars to see the vast stretches of this magnificent pass. As we continue with our drive we reach Pang. Pang is situated at a very high altitude and we reach this place driving on the Lachlung La - the highest motorable road in the world. Our drive to Leh passes through Kyungshu plains where you can also sight Kyung – a sheep like wild animal. On arrival to Leh in the evening we check into the hotel for overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 8 - Leh
Highlights:
Hemis Monastery LadakhMorning, we take you for sightseeing of Leh. We drive you to Hemis Monastery – the biggest and the most important monastery of Ladakh. Learn everything about the Hemis Culture and their tradition from the tour guides as they give you very useful tips about the Hemis history. Then we drive you to Thiksey Gompa, that offers a panoramic view of the green Indus Valley below from its hilltop. Walk inside the chambars to see statues, stupas and tannkhas. Later a visit to the Shey Palace and Monastery brings to live the royal lifestyle of the King of Leh. Here, you also get to see a sitting Buddha idol wrought with copper and gold. Night is at the hotel.
Day 9 - Leh
Highlights:
This day is kept for adventure activities in Leh. Adventures in Leh is manifold. The most happening of the adventures are trekking, mountaineering and Yak ride. So, we engage you in all these adventure activities. While on the Yak, listen to the guides as the Yak ride become fascinating with the guidance of the tour guides. Have a penetrating view of the country side and then we return you back to sightseeing of Leh. Watch out for the marvelous mountains and valleys of Leh and have a photography session of the place. Later, return back to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 10 - Leh
Highlights:
Leh Local MarketMorning, after breakfast, we take you for shopping in Leh. The colourful markets of Leh are famous for semi precious stones, curios and artifacts. You can also buy the traditional items like dapper stovepipe hats, hand dyed 'Gonchans', raw silk cummerbunds, tie-dyed rope, soled shoes and more. The ecology centre handicrafts shop is another centre where you can pick traditional clothing like hand knitted woolen jumpers, hats and socks. After the shopping spree, return back to the hotel for lunch. Take some rest and then in the evening walk in the local bazaars of Leh. Learn about the local means of earning livelihood and about the lifestyle of the villagers of Leh as they come here to sell fruits and vegetables. Interact with them and later return back to the hotel for the night's rest.
Day 11 - Leh - Delhi
Highlights:
This morning we return back to Delhi. So, check out of the Hotel in Leh as we drive you to the airport for boarding the flight to Delhi. Leh and Delhi have very contrasting climates and you will feel the difference once you land in Delhi. On arrival to Delhi we take you to the hotel for a check in. Have lunch and then in the evening we take you to Old Delhi. Here enjoy a rickshaw ride in Chadni Chowk and simultaneously also buy semi precious and precious stones from the shops of Dabira Kalan - famous for their jewelleries. Having finished with the shopping we take you to Red Fort so as to see this magnificent fort that is well conserved over the last decades. Once in the fort, you also get the chance to entertain yourself with a 'light and sound show' held in the fort at evening hours. Night is at the hotel.
Day 12 - Delhi
Highlights:
This day is kept for sightseeing of Delhi. We start sightseeing with Qutub Minar – the tallest brick minaret of the world. Then we drive you to Lotus temple which is the most ideal place to meditate as there is pin drop silence in the temple. Having spent some time in the silence of the temple reach out for Humayun's tomb – one of the mughals fascinating monument that captivates the viewers at its first sight. Our drive then brings us to Akshardam temple. This temple is magnificently built and is a recent contribution of modern art. Walk in the lovely courtyards and the sprawling gardens of the temple. Now, we once again make a move for sightseeing of other monuments of Delhi and drive past the Akshardam temple to reach Rashtrapati Bhawan surpassing the gardens of which brings us to India Gate. Engage in a photography session and then take a short break for lunch. After lunch we bring you to Rajghat – the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. This would be the last place of our tour in Delhi, following which, we return back to the hotel. Check out of the hotel when we drive you to IGI airport where you board the flight that takes you on your onward journey.
