Arya Vaidya hospital, the main wing of Arya Vaidya Shala's charitable activities, was established in 1924 with the objective of providing free ayurvedic and allopathic treatments to the poor and needy patients. Now it has matured to offer the benefits of a maternity home, a surgical unit, a 'Panchakarma' ward, a clinical research department and a poison treatment section. Recently, it has also engaged itself in conducting clinical research in the fields of cancer and rheumatoid arthritis and has also joined hands with the Calicut Medical College to run a pain and palliative care unit.
