Andhra Pradesh – Bridge Between South India And North India

Andhra Pradesh is one of the most important south Indian states. It can easily be called the gateway to south India from north India. Andhra Pradesh has its border shared with Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtrra and Orissa. It also is connected to Bay of Bengal which has given birth to many beautiful beaches.

By Air

It is quite convenient to come to come to Andhra Pradesh by air as it has number of airports. Begumpet Airport which is situated in Hyderabad is the only International airport in Andhra Pradesh. Other airports situated in Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Secunderabad, Warangal, and Vijayawada which are all domestic airports. All major flight operators like Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, Sahara and Indian Airlines have their flight to all these airports from all major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata. Hyderabad Airport is connected to all major International destinations.

By Rail

Andhra Pradesh is one of the most important states in railway network of the country as it is virtually the connection between South India and North India. Most of the trains between North and South India pass through Andhra Pradesh. The most important railway head in Andhra Pradesh is Vijayawada. This well maintained railway station is also among the largest stations in India. Hyderabad and Warangal are other two major railway station in the state. There are daily express trains to all major cities like Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. The railway connection within the state too is very well networked which makes it easier for travelers to move from one city to another conveniently.

By Road

The state is connected with all other states really appreciably. The network of roads and highways in the state connect it with all nearby states like Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Orissa effectively. State transport buses of Andhra Pradesh as well as other states make it convenient for passenger to travel to different states with an overnight journey. There are luxury coaches as well that run between these states. Hyderabad has the main Interstate Bus terminal.

Local Transportation

For commuting inside the state, there are ample of option to choose from like buses, taxis, auto rickshaws and cycle rickshaws. These options are more vaible for short distance traveling. Since the Andhra Pradesh is a big state, railways and airways are also considered for traveling. Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is the main bus operator in the state. Apart from regular buses, they have luxury coaches as well in their fleet for long distances. For traveling inside a city, taxis are the most comfortable option.
