Another 13 kms down the Almora road is Majhkhali, which too is an idyllic picnic spot. Adventurous High in Ranikhet

To keep people engrossed, Ranikhet also assists the tourist with adventure options like golfing and fishing. Go to the Bhalu dam on Kosi river, 3,2 kms from Ranikhet to indulge in fishing. However, permission needs to be sought before fishing in this dam.
Among other adventure options tourists can enjoy is golfing at high altitudes of Upat and Kalika. Conjure up all your energy to give a high powered shot that should land far, far away. You can also take excursion from here to see a temple dedicated to goddess Kali, just a kilometer away.

Getting to the Land of Green Meadows

Even though the hill resort of Ranikhet does not have an airport or a railway station of its own, it is easily accessible. The nearest airport happens to be at Pant Nagar (Nainital), at a distance of 119 km. During the summer regular flights link other important places with Nainital and thus to Ranikhet. The nearest railhead for Ranikhet is Kathgodam, at a distance of 84 km. The well linked road network connects Ranikhet with other important cities. The main bus station is located near the main tourist office adjacent to the Sadar Bazaar area. The bus service from Ranikhet to Nainital, Almora, Kathgodam, and Kausani is regular.
